At what age were you least hot?
Probably 12 or 13. I didn’t have much of a body, so I wasn’t filling out clothes the way I was supposed to. My bike shorts weren’t quite as tight as they should have been.

Hot or not: a Spice Girls reunion?
Not hot. They’re getting up there in age — it’s kind of time to stop. At least change the name to Spice Women.

She's been wearing her alcohol monitor for a month but Eve still can't get used to the hefty ankle jewellery."It's the most annoying thing. When they told me I was getting it on, I thought it was going to be like a beeper (pager), but it's like a pair of Bose headphones," she moaned to People.com
The rapper - whose full name is Eve Jeffers - was ordered to wear the Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor (SCRAM), after being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, but will be allowed to remove the device on Saturday September 8.And she admits that while dealing with the charge under the glare of the public spotlight was "disgusting" enough, the hardest part was telling her mum."I'm still scared of her. I had to tell her before someone else told her or she saw or heard it," Eve added. But she is full of remorse, saying: "I definitely learned my lesson. It was a stupid situation, stupid decision. I did something dumb and now I'm paying for it."

Whether she’s the hardcore "pitbull in a skirt" from early Ruff Ryders' LPs or the glamorous diva from Eve-olution, Eve has always stood out. Initially making a name for herself as the lone female MC amongst the likes of DMX and The LOX, the Philadelphia beauty later made a name for herself in other forums, snagging film roles, starring in a self-titled sitcom, and modeling high-end fashion. But now, five years removed from her last album, Eve is refocused on what got her here: music. In an interview with HipHopDX, Eve talks about her new album, dealing with life in the limelight, and working with two of the best producers in the industry.

HipHopDX: It’s been a minute since your last album, so what all have you been up to?

Eve: I had a TV show for three years, and I took off a year. I really didn’t take off a year, I just moved away and took a minute to figure out what I wanted to do with myself. I had the TV show for three years, and it took me a year to do the album. So that’s the five years right there.

HipHopDX: Where did you move to?

Eve: L.A.

HipHopDX: How much of a change was that for you?

In a genre known for being dominated by men, rapper Eve is a rarity.

Few females in hip-hop have been as commercially successful as Eve, who claims lucrative album sales, recording contracts, product endorsements and awards, just like her superstar male counterparts.

With it she became only the second woman to enter the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1, which was a major accomplishment for the lone female in the previously all-male rap squad Ruff Ryders.
